Gideon might very well hold one of the records for a dog waiting the longest for his forever home. Gideon came to "Luv-a-Bull Rescue" in the summer of 2002. At the time, he was extremely hyperactive and way, way too much dog for most people, or so I was told, even though he was sweet as pie. The years have passed, and now, ironically, Gideon hears that he is a "senior" dog, and too old for most people... Gideon has lived in the country his entire life. He is a hunter, and can not be trusted around cats or small animals. However, he is also very intelligent and does not go "looking for trouble." Gideon LOVES his people and is very loving and playful. Gideon is also housebroken and has perfect house-manners. Giddy walks well on leash, rides well in the car, gets along reasonably well with other dogs, and trys very hard to do what is asked of him. I've known this dog all his life. I rescued - and still live with - his brother as well. Although Gideon is now over eight years old, I know that more than anything, he would love to have his own home, and his own people. Gideon was adopted out once for over a year, and did great in that home, until his new owner lost his job and the home, and had to return Gideon to Luv-A-Bull Rescue. Gideon is about 55 pounds with beautiful blue eyes and crazy ears. He is some kind of mixed breed, but we're not sure what...Gideon has been listed on various adoption websites for PIt Bulls for the past seven years. Everyone coming to Luvabull to meet, adopt, and take home a different dog really likes Gideon, and all ask me, "Why in the world is he still here?" I'm not sure I can answer that, except I will admit he likes to hunt, and most everyone seems to have cats. If you have a rabbit or gopher or raccoon problem on your property, this dog is for you. At his age, however, Gideon would be quite content to lie on a warm sofa all day, except for a nice walk outside with his person. He is still alert and built like an athelete, but has most definitely mellowed. If any of you remember seeing Giddy on PBRC years and years ago, and thought about adopting him...Please consider it again, and email me, ok?
